Brian Swope, President
Brian is the President of WorkRight Property Services, bringing a comprehensive skill set and a robust leadership background to his role. His journey in the construction industry began in 2004, right after high school, where he immersed himself in building large custom homes from the ground up, quickly gaining proficiency across multiple trades with a general contractor.
Brian then expanded his expertise by joining a prominent commercial and structural concrete company. During this time, he pursued extensive professional development, completing both Cement Masonry and Carpentry apprenticeship programs. Demonstrating a commitment to safety and operational excellence, he also secured his heavy equipment certification, OSHA 30, and Red Cross first aid and CPR certifications. Brian’s dedication led him through various key positions within the company, including apprentice, foreman, construction yard supervisor, and purchasing manager.
Before joining WorkRight, Brian returned to his roots, focusing on custom homes, remodels, and tenant improvements, while also furthering his education part-time in Architecture. In 2013, Brian became a vital part of the WorkRight team, steadily progressing through the ranks to his current position as President, where he now oversees all aspects of the company’s operations and continued success.
Ken London, Vice President
Ken London brings an unparalleled entrepreneurial drive and a deep understanding of business development to his role at WorkRight Property Services. Demonstrating remarkable acumen from the outset of his career, Ken founded a company immediately after college, successfully scaling it to an impressive $28 million in revenue.
Driven by a passion for marketing, people, and business, Ken then transitioned his focus to the construction industry. In 2001, he joined forces with his brother, Jonathan, to acquire a modest maintenance company that they strategically transformed into WorkRight Property Services.
Today, under Ken and Jonathan’s leadership, WorkRight has flourished into a thriving mid-sized construction company and Plumbing Contractor, renowned for servicing Southern California. The company offers a comprehensive suite of tenant improvement and contracting services, having earned particular distinction for its outstanding apartment renovation projects. With nearly two decades of invaluable construction knowledge, Ken continuously leverages his passion for real estate investing to keenly understand client needs and proactively expand WorkRight’s service offerings.
Ken holds a degree from the University of Arizona. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children, and pursuing outdoor activities such like mountain biking, skiing, and playing tennis.
Joel (J.T.) Van Nuis, Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, J.T. leads WorkRight Property Services with a robust foundation built on diverse experience and an entrepreneurial spirit. His journey in construction began at a young age within his family’s business, where he gained invaluable practical knowledge across various trades as a laborer. After high school, J.T. quickly demonstrated his leadership by running his own framing crew, building custom homes for a prominent residential developer in San Diego.
He further honed his project management skills in Mammoth, CA, overseeing a significant construction development for Metco Engineering. In this challenging role, he successfully navigated complex logistics, adverse weather conditions, and strict deadlines. Returning to San Diego, J.T. took the initiative to launch his own successful Class B contracting company, Concept General Contractors, which he managed for more than seven years.
WorkRight Property Services was fortunate to recruit J.T. after working with him as a subcontractor. Now, he is integral to our leadership, driving all operational aspects with a sharp focus on efficient project delivery, consistently meeting timeframes and budgets.
Jonathan London, Chief Financial Officer
As a co-founder and key leader, Jonathan leverages years of diverse financial and business experience to guide WorkRight Property Services’ operations. His career journey started in Texas, where he gained foundational knowledge in banking as an auditor and accountant. Jonathan then moved to New York, rising to Executive Vice President within the family clothing business, demonstrating his capacity for high-level management.A true entrepreneur, he collaborated with his brother Ken during this time to build what became one of the country’s largest apartment relocation businesses. Following a series of other successful endeavors, including jointly owned properties, Jonathan and Ken officially joined forces to create WorkRight Construction.Currently, Jonathan is responsible for the vital oversight of WorkRight’s technology and all financial operations. His ongoing contributions are crucial to nurturing the company’s distinguished client base and driving its sustained growth. Outside of work, Jonathan is an avid golfer, skier, and enjoys traveling.

Wes Lynn, Construction Superintendent
Wes Lynn is a highly accomplished Construction Supervisor whose career reflects a steadfast commitment to the building industry. His foundational experience in plumbing began during high school, leading to a remarkable 17-year tenure as a plumbing foreman, where he developed a keen eye for detail and strong leadership abilities. Since 2003, Wes has applied his comprehensive understanding of construction to management roles, contributing to the success of two major track housing developments and intricate restoration projects. His extensive background, coupled with his decade-long dedication to WorkRight Property Services, makes him an invaluable asset to our team and a driving force behind our commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Mark Sainz, Construction Superintendent
Mark Sainz is a highly accomplished construction leader with over 35 years of experience in the industry. Beginning his career by joining a labor union at 18, he quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a concrete and labor foreman at 22 and a general foreman by 32. He has spent 16 years specializing in vertical structural construction, overseeing key projects like the Limberg Field runway expansion, the first 40-story building in San Diego, and the city’s first Convention Center.
A true San Diego native, Mark was born and raised in Carlsbad, where his family has deep local roots spanning over a century. He is also a proud father of two boys. His career further includes 18 years in remodel and rehabilitation construction and a decade as the owner of an estate management company. Mark’s diverse experience and lifelong dedication to the San Diego community make him a valued leader in the field.
Fermin began his construction career in 2002 as a plumber, quickly earning Top Salesman honors in both residential and commercial sectors within his first year. Drawing on his father’s expertise in irrigation and exterior drainage, Fermin integrated these specialties into his plumbing work. His talent was soon recognized by a City of Coronado subcontractor, where he managed plumbing for fire departments, schools, and city buildings.
Transitioning to property supervision, he excelled in directing rehab projects and managing subcontractors, leading to a rapid promotion as Regional Director, overseeing 34 properties across San Diego. Fermin’s leadership earned him the Director of the Year award for Southern California. He later rose to Chief Executive Assistant of Sales.
In 2018, Fermin joined Workright Property Services, playing a key role in contracts and executing multi-million dollar renovations. He spearheaded the insurance division during the COVID-19 pandemic and now focuses on project management, sales, and securing new management company and commercial contracts for both the construction and plumbing divisions. In his free time, Fermin enjoys spending time with family, working on cars, and watching baseball.

Danial “Danny” O’Connell, Director of Plumbing
As a third-generation plumber, Danny’s journey in the plumbing industry began at a young age, frequently accompanying his father to work and gaining firsthand experience. Danny officially started his plumbing career in 2002 at the age of 18, working alongside his father, who ran a small plumbing business specializing in restaurant maintenance and construction.
After Economic changes in the restaurant world in 2008, Danny expanded his expertise, exploring a broader range of plumbing services. Over the years, he’s had the opportunity to work with several companies, gaining a diverse skill set that includes experience in commercial, residential, and light industrial plumbing.
Danny’s background has equipped him with a well-rounded understanding of the plumbing industry, and he’s committed to continually learning and applying his knowledge to provide top-tier plumbing solutions at WorkRight.
Rick Marks, Vice President of Plumbing
Rick began his career in construction after high school, when he entered the field as a carpenter, laying the groundwork for his extensive hands-on experience In 1986 Rick went to Stacy Plumbing and within a year, his dedication and skill were recognized, and he was promoted to plumbing foreman. In 1998, Rick joined Alpine Plumbing, a company specializing in working with major builders like DR Horton, Shea Homes, and Brookfield Homes in San Diego County. His leadership qualities quickly propelled him from superintendent to president. During this period, Rick further solidified his credentials by acquiring his C-36 (Plumbing) and B (General Building) licenses. In 2012, he leveraged his success and experience to purchase Alpine Plumbing. However, due to the economic downturn later that year, Rick had to make the difficult decision to cease operations at Alpine Plumbing.
Undeterred, Rick founded RA Marx Plumbing and Construction Inc. in 2013. He downsized to a two-man operation, focusing on custom homes, new construction, and renovations. This venture showcased his resilience, passion for high-end residential projects, and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
In August 2025, Rick joined WorkRight, bringing his extensive knowledge and leadership to the team. He is eager to collaborate with talented leaders and contribute his
expertise to San Diego’s premier residential design and build projects, continuing to grow and serve the community with exceptional construction services.
